I just played Hank Snow's original and hadn't realized just how much Ray Charles remodeled this song. Hank's is a dirge; Ray's is strong and powerful. Many of Ray Charles' country covers are surprisingly close to the originals (notably "I Can't Stop Loving You"), but not this one.
